Narked Records is proud to announce the release of the smoking hot remix of the Kenny Wesley classic “The Window”, by legendary producer Matthew Shell (MTS).
The single marks Wesley’s debut with the label, and a matter of pride for founder and CEO, Arun Shenoy, a fan of Wesley’s work over the years.
Stereo Lif, the producer of the song, has remarked that the track originally started out as a custom song he wrote for the TV show “So You Think You Can Dance?”. He subsequently presented it to Kenny Wesley when they first started working together. Marked by only a single verse and chorus at that point, Wesley helped Stereo Lif finish the song.
The original lyrical inspiration was the observation that very often life happens right outside your window when you’re often too stuck in your mind and life’s tribulations to even notice. To which Kenny adds that “The Window” to him can represent so many different things and project a very powerful image. One such perception was that of representing truth: Being open to embracing all that comes or happens in one’s life.
A neo-soul meets Seal meets Cee Lo Green kind of musical vibe, combined with Wesley’s soulful vocal performance, helped bring the song together to create what is now widely regarded as a Kenny Wesley classic. And now, taking it to a whole new level, the magic touch of producer Matthew Shell (MTS).
A Narked Records exclusive.
